Patrons consistently praise their mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, and hush puppies, all of which are thoughtfully prepared from scratch to deliver that deep, comforting taste of home.

One standout is the Buddy Burger Basket, featuring two cheeseburgers and fries, ideal for sharing and lounging into the diner’s laid-back vibe. Notably, many fried items such as mushrooms, fish hush puppies, and onion rings are offered gluten free, catering to a wider range of dietary preferences without sacrificing flavor or texture.

The customer experience is a highlight in itself. Reviews from visitors emphasize the inviting, family-friendly environment, with several praising the homemade desserts, particularly the fried pies filled with cherry and coconut.

The rustic ambiance doesn’t detract from what truly matters: the food. Each plate carries the unmistakable mark of care and tradition, appealing to Southern food lovers and travelers passing through alike.

We were passing through and saw this place online. It said it was the best country food they had ever had. A very true statement. The food was very good. Was definitely the best fried okra I have ever had. My chicken strips and gravy were awesome. My husband really liked his steak fingers and fries. Fries could be crisper. The staff was very friendly. The place was very warm and inviting. We also got fried mushrooms that were very good, too. We got three fried pies for later. I am so looking forward to them. We were just too full to eat them after lunch. Looking for to our next visit.

Charming little bistro serving up all kinds of southern goodness. Full disclosure, the building that the restaurant is located in, would be considered a hole in the wall. I am not using that phrase to poke fun, just for reference and the reason for my atmosphere ranking. In my honest opinion, some of the best food you will ever eat, comes from rustic locations such as this. So don't let the "atmosphere" stop you. It's the food you are coming for! We decided to try the place on a Friday evening. We got to enjoy their catfish dinner special. The meal price was amazing for all of the food that you get. Oh my goodness children, every item on my plate was made from scratch. The fish had an amazing amount of corn meal batter and it was fried perfectly!! That cook back there knows what they are doing! My only complaints on my meal. I had to add salt to my brown beans, pretty sure they don't add any salt so folks can season to their liking, but I prefer my beans cooked with salt. My hush puppies were cold. But other than those two minor things, the meal was great. We even had dessert included with our meal and it was a perfect slice of red velvet cake. What more could you ask for. The restaurant has a great menu and I am looking forward to returning to try more of the menu. The chicken fried steak, fried pickles, and various fried fruit pies looked particularly appetizing. This is a local dinner with typical southern charm. Bring the family on down and share a delicious meal together.

I love places like this. Places run with heart, and the food always tastes better that way. I recommend the breakfasts: omelets, pancakes, and burgers. A good place for a break from the interstate 40.

My family passed through & visited on our way home from our trip to see the total solar eclipse. The diner was really cute inside, the service was friendly and good even with being busy, & the food was amazing! Great homestyle comfort food! Delicious fried pies, breakfast food, burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, and chicken fried steak with potatoes. My husband says the fried pie he got reminded him of the ones his mom used to make. I highly recommend this place.
